Using The Design Build Advantage
Tim and
Heather King had definite ideas about what they wanted in their dream
home, yet they had some difficulty finding a builder who had the knowledge
and expertise to customize their home - - and finding a builder who was
willing to do so.
"Other
builders we talked to didn't offer the option of customizing," Tim said.
Most of the homes throughout the subdivisions were very similar and had
limited floor plans. Tim's search for a custom builder ended when he
found Kalin Custom Homes, and the couple's memorable journey of building
their home began.
"The virtual tours they provided were
extremely helpful in visualizing what the house would look like when the
changes we wanted were made," Heather said. Yet, as the plans were adapted
to suit their specific needs, the kings were confident that Kalin's
experienced staff was making certain no structural compromises were being
made.
"I don't know how many times I printed off the
plans they e-mailed us," Heather said. "I used them to help in
planning the lighting, in placing electrical outlets and ceiling fans.
And, I used them to show our progress when family and friends asked 'How's
it going?'"

But Kalin's commitment to the Kings didn't end
there. "They did a two-week follow-up walk-through," Heather said. "And
they will do on in six months, and at the end of the first year."
"We didn't want to pay a lot of money for a
house that wasn't what we really wanted," the Kings said. "The
design-build program definitely worked for us." |
